  1. Starry night. This was made by Van Gogh in an asylum. So the background of this painting shows there were obstacles when he was asking this painting.
  2. When this was made the artist’s sister was sent to a lunatic asylum which would’ve been hard for him. Yet he created a masterpiece in a difficult time.
  3. Barge Haulers on the Volga. This represents the men that accepted the fate of being oppressed. But the youngest one is the brightest fighting back.
  4. Potato eaters. This shows that people had to live off of next to nothing. But they kept going in hopes of a better life.
  5. The Japanese bridge. This was created by Claude Monet after he had suffered from cataracts. He drew it how he saw it with his own eyes.
